Thanks so much for all of your help. Any information that you need on my
line that is connected to you, feel free to ask. I am new at this and
may not have as much as you need. I have done most of my work through
family books and my grandmother. I am connected through the line as

      Jane Lindsey m Matthew Davis
Micajah Lindsey Davis m Lavinia Ray
Minerva Ellen Davis m John R Young
Johnnie Avis Young m John Schaffer Noe
Beulah Gray Noe m Hoyt Leon Poore
Charlotte Ann Poore m James Louis Hathcote
John, Jamie and Mary (me) Hathcote

Thanks once again for your help. I go to college in Fulton, MS so I
should be able to get some good records. Please let me know if I can

      Email from K R Squier dated 4 Feb 2003:

I am new at this and probably would not even be considered to be a novice.
Somehow I got hooked up with Charles Sanders ans we have been corresponding.
In today's mail he gave me your web site on the McClurkens which I believe to
be part of my lineage on my mother's side.
My confusion comes with the children of Micajah L Davis and Lavinia Ra
According to a Biographical History of Johnson and Hill Counties, Texas
published by the Lewis Publishing Co. of Chicago in 1892, my great
grandfather John HainesYoung first married Helen Davis, b. in AL in 1854.
She was the daughter of Hon.M.L. and Lovenia (Ray) Davis. Helen died 4
months after they were married. He then married my great grandmother Harriet
      L. Davis b.1861. She was Helen's sister. They had 9 children of which my
grandmother Harriet Young Brown was one.

I was more than surprised to find Minerva Ellen Davis listed as the Davis'
only child. It also stated that she married John R. Young. These seem to be
different people, but all connected to both the Davis and Young families.
Can you be of any help?

      Email from K R Squier dated 8 Feb 2003:
I attempted to send an email to your Minerva/John ? Young source. It w
reurned. I then did more research on my own and have found the 6/7 children
that lived into adulthood of Micajah.C. Davis and wife Lavinia Ray. Th
appear in the 1850,1860 and 1870 census records. Butch Saunder confirmed
this along with page numbers etc. which support the Hill Cty. Historical
Biography and obituary of which I have copies.
The children in 1870 were listed as:
      Susan F. 17FW
      Helen D 14FW
      Alice 12FW
      Minerva E. 10FW
      Harriet L. 8FW
In 1860 the following were listed:
      Mary E. 14
      John H. 12
      Sarah J? 9F AL
      Susan F. 7F
      Helen 5
      Alice 3
      Eleanor 1

I believe that John ?Young was married to Minerva E. and that they had a
child Johnnie, but at this time Minerva is not part of my research. If you
have any information which may be of value to me I would appreciate it. I am
currently staying this winter in Durham, NC, with a daughter and plan to go
to the Catholic Presbyterian Cemetery some time in the next few weeks. On my
return home, I am looking to stop in both AL and MS.
